Kevin really felt like a real kid whom is a relatable character as some of what he's gone though is some of the things that we may have experienced a time or two in our lives when we were kids. The "wet bandits" were nicknamed like that by Marv because their "calling card" was to let the water running in every houses they robbed. Harry is more cranky, while Marv is the most stupid of the two and maybe that's why people tend to sympathize more with him. Marv is the typical tall and clumsy guy with no brain, a bit like Averell Dalton from the Lucky Luke comics. He also knows all about the intentions of the "wet bandits" Harry and Marv and prepares them lots of unexpected "surprises".

On August 27, following the acquisition of 21st Century Fox by Disney, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that a new PG-rated family-friendly Home Alone film was in development for Disney+, with Stoned Alone entering development hell. The fourth installment was directed by Rod Daniel and premiered as a television film on ABC on November 3, 2002. This film returns to the original's main character, Kevin , and one of the two Wet/Sticky Bandits, Marv .

It sold 11 million copies, generating Fox revenue of $150 million making it, along with E.T.
Fake snow can eat away at a budget, so when a snowstorm rolled in on the second day on set, everyone jumped at the chance to film the "money shot" where Kevin wakes up on Christmas morning and reunites with his family. The crew dropped everything on the second day of filming to shoot the final scene in the snow. The filmmakers rented the family an apartment to stay in while they worked, but the family decided to return home after a few nights.
Family departure and Kevin left alone
The ad recreates scenes from the original 1990 film, where Kevin shaves his face, jumps on his parents bed, and decorates a Christmas tree all while asking the Google Assistant to set reminders for him. To create the illusion that the film was an authentic 1940s gangster film, the scene was filmed on black-and-white negative film, and Johnny's office featured props from that era. And since the movie was already working on a tight budget, the production team had to get creative when it came to special effects. The painfully hilarious third feature from director Chris Columbus, from a script by legend John Hughes, was a massive hit in 1990, grossing more than $400 million worldwide and spawning four sequels and counting. The snow falling in Home Alone, as happens with so many other holiday movies, was created specifically for the film. This means it was snow made out of wax and paper that is meant to look like the real thing falling dreamily outside of Kevin’s window as his family finally makes their way home to spend Christmas with their forgotten child. Instead of wasting all of that artificial snow, the production team donated it to Lyric Opera of Chicago, and it has been recycled in many different productions through the years. We already know a few bits and pieces about the little movie about a kid who got left home alone accidentally when his family flew off to Paris. We know it became one of the highest grossing films of all time, of course. And that Macauley Culkin became a massive star at the young age of 10 years old.
Julio Macat, the films cinematographer, considers Home Alone his favorite film out of all the projects he has shot. On Christmas Day, Kevin is initially disappointed to find that his family is still gone, although Kate arrives home and they reconcile. The rest of the family soon return after waiting in Paris until they could obtain a direct flight to Chicago.
Though Culkin, Pesci, and Daniel Stern weren't responsible for all of the falls and hits their characters took throughout the film, their stunt doubles did them for real. According to the "Home Alone" episode of Netflix's "The Movies That Made Us,"after watching the actor play Miles Russell, Hughes was inspired to write a film with a young boy at its helm. "'Home Alone' is one of the last films shot with an oldcarbon-arc lighting system that was popular back in the 1940s through 1960s for Technicolor films," Columbus told Insider. When "Home Alone" came out in 1990, CGI wasn't the norm on film sets.
